A Brief Look at our Church

The Johnson City Alliance Church began in 1979 as a ministry of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, whose offices are located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Arthur Joyce was the founding pastor and continues to serve as pastor today. For four years the church met in the club room of the City Recreation Building on Legion Street in downtown Johnson City. It moved into the present building in February of 1983. The church is a part of the Southern District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, whose offices are located in Birmingham, Alabama.

Barkman

Missionary of the Month

The Garry Barkman Family - The Philippines

After getting his training at Moody Aviation in Elizabethton, TN, Garry took a wife and travelled to Venezuela where he flew as a missionary pilot with for New Tribes Missions. In the summer of 2000, they were transferred to Paraguay.

In February 2006 Garry and Cynthia moved their family and the aviation program to a new location in the Philippines where their co-workers and a newly-constructed hangar awaited them. God is at work in the Barkman family and we are glad that we have had a relationship with them in their training.
