Arthur Joyce - "October 7, 1916, witnessed the worst defeat in a college football game when Georgia Tech played Cumberland college of Kentucky and beat them 222 to 0! The record shows that Cumberland never made a first down and that the Cumberland players were just totally destroyed. Halfway through the first half one of the Cumberland backs fumbled the ball. As the ball rolled toward his teammate, he yelled, "PICK IT UP! PICK IT UP!" The other player yelled, "YOU PICK IT UP! YOU DROPPED IT." There are times when our situation in life seems so hopeless. We've dropped the ball and we really don't feel like picking it up again! We're just plain tired of being hit over and over and over again, and we just want to quit! But... Paul told us in 2 Corinthians 3:18 & 4:1 that we must not "lose heart." God is at work in us making us conform to the image of His dear Son. In the process He is using every event in our lives to "transform" us. Be not discouraged!"
