Isaac Watts - "I'll not willingly offend, Nor be easily offended; What's amiss I'll strive to mend, And endure what can't be mended"
SELAH!
Isaac Watts (1674-1748) was an English pastor, preacher, poet, and hymn writer. He wrote about 600 hymns including, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, Am I a Soldier of the Cross, and Joy to the World. He is onsidered the founder of English hymnody and children's hymnody. He published books of poetry, hymns, and three volumes of theological discourses.
As much as possible, credit will be given to those whose "Selahs" have prompted my own consideration and meditation. Some are originial (probably not many) with me or are completely anonymous. (Disclaimer: I don't say that every "Selah" story is true, it's an illustration that is designed to get you to reflect upon the point of the story.)
