Sunday School

Our Sunday school begins at: 9:30 am

The Sunday school hour is in place to give practical help in living the Christ life by understanding the written Word of God. Our teachers take seriously the responsibility they have been given to teach and disciple. Each class gives attention to the truth of scripture and spends time in learning those truths for application to day to day living. There are two adult classes, a youth class, a junior class, a primary class, a beginner class, and a nursery for those who need one.

Sunday Morning Worship

Our service begins at: 10:30 am

Worship means to ascribe worth. When we gather in the name of Jesus we are seeking to ascribe worth to Jesus. We are seeing to lift up and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the reason why we gather together. Everything else pales in comparison to Him. He is worthy of our praise and worship.

Our worship service can be described as a blend of contemporary and traditional, with a leaning towards the traditional. Our motivation is to honor our Lord and not to give a "performance." Worship is not a spectator activity! Each person from their own heart is to participate in worship and to give praise to Jesus.

Evening Service

Our service begins at: 6:00 pm

The Sunday evening meeting is an informal meeting devoted to applying the practical truths of Scripture. Freedom exists for discussion of the Bible principles and all are welcome to attend! During the summer months, one Sunday evening each month is given to a barbecue in our picnic area where we can fellowship together and enjoy one another as God intends us to interact with one another. Eating together will often draw people to a deeper understanding of the needs, burdens, joys, and cares of others which leads us to praying more specifically for individuals. There are other special events that also take place during the regular Sunday evening services.

Wednesday Prayer Meeting

Our prayer meeting begins at: 7:00 pm

God has given us the responsibility to pray one for another. He has also instructed us to pray for those outside of our own communities as we seek to establish His church around the world. Our Wednesday prayer meeting is just that: a prayer meeting. We are currently "trying on" some ideas to increase participation in our prayer meeting time. To that end, the Wednesday Prayer Meeting begins at 6:15 with a light supper that features a family atmosphere while we eat together. Then at 7:00 we all gather for some singing and the sharing of prayer needs. There are also nursery workers available for those who may need that service. And, a weekly Kid's Club, for ages 5 to 13 also meets with an emphasis upon missions and prayer for our missionaries.

Barkman

Missionary of the Month

The Garry Barkman Family - The Philippines

After getting his training at Moody Aviation in Elizabethton, TN, Garry took a wife and travelled to Venezuela where he flew as a missionary pilot with for New Tribes Missions. In the summer of 2000, they were transferred to Paraguay.

In February 2006 Garry and Cynthia moved their family and the aviation program to a new location in the Philippines where their co-workers and a newly-constructed hangar awaited them. God is at work in the Barkman family and we are glad that we have had a relationship with them in their training.
