Our Leadership

Randy Yates

Randy has been with us for 13 years, having previously served six years as head deacon and four years as an elder at JCAC. He has taught the junior Sunday school class the last 2 years. Residents of Washington County for 13 years, Randy and his wife, Jean, have four children. Their older two have graduated from Liberty University and their son David and his wife Amanda attend JCAC. Their younger two daughters are students at Liberty University. Randy enjoys hiking, hunting, boating, and crossword puzzles.

Bill Anderson

Bill and his wife, Gail, have been members of JCAC since 1986. Their previous home church was the C&MA in Oconomowoc, WI, which they left after Bill’s employer transferred him to TN, where he eventually retired. Bill and Gail have two children and three grandchildren. At JCAC, Bill has served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Elder.

Larry McCandless

Larry and his wife, Mariela, have been members at JCAC since 2001 when they moved to the area from Raleigh, NC.  Larry was born and bred in Butler, PA, just north of Pittsburgh (go Steelers!) and has attended Alliance Churches all his life in various cities and states.  He served in a variety of roles at JCAC since officially joining in 2001 including Assistant Treasurer, Trustee, and most recently Treasurer.  He enjoys biking, skiing, hiking, shooting, reading, cooking, camping, exercising, DIY, and practically anything he can do with Mariela, including running 5ks and travelling.


Former Pastor Larry Vaughan

Pastor Larry Vaughan has officially "retired" from Leadership at JCAC as of January 1, 2020.  Before being called to Johnson City Alliance Church in early 2014, Pastor Larry pastored the Peninsula Alliance Church in Newport News, VA, for two years and the Rockdale Alliance Church in Conyers, GA, for over eleven years.  He and his wife, Carroll, also served in Indonesia as International Workers for the Christian and Missionary Alliance for 25 years.  Pastor Larry earned his B.A. degree in Pharmacy from Southwestern  Oklahoma State University and his M.A. degree in Bible from Columbia International University.  Pastor Larry and Carroll have four children, sixteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
